*** WORLD THAT NEVER WAS ***

Through the open window

A light crawls in

Coming near, it talks to me

“How we’ve gone so bleak”

I stare it in dismay

Yet deeply I think

Has the world gone mad

Or am I ill

- - - - - - -

But then I look out

I see darkness in light

Mother Nature cries for mercy

But people are too preoccupied

I heave a sigh of relief

The world hasn’t ended

The light moans, “What a shame,

How many errs have you mended?”

- - - - - - -

Somewhere a guy loses his family

While we party & snore

Someone ends up his life

We assume it a daily chore

A girl can’t complete her education

We blame her dismal fate

We always talk about love

But there’s a never ending hate

- - - - - - -

People of the world

What have we done

Our teaching’s gone cold

And the glories unsung

Let’s rise from the ash

For a common cause

Take each others hand to form

A world that never was

- - - - - - -

Rivers of blood

And bags of bones

Flow & accumulate

In the land of hope

Our sympathy’s been stolen

We’re robbed of faith

We live in a house

Built with disgrace

- - - - - - -

And we never sense unrest

To lie on greed’s bed

The food we eat

Is the truth gone stale

Yeah, we’re all fucked up

But still we endure

When is the limit

To stop asking for more

- - - - - - -

A mother waits desperately

For a boy that’d never return

While someone writes a story

For a few money to earn

Deep inside his skin

Someone writhes in pain

Somewhere an addicted

Fails to start anew again

- - - - - - -

Oh, what have we dreamed

And what has been done

For a few pieces of gold

We’ve sold our loved ones

But now, let the truth shine

And evil take a pause

Let us forge & devise

The world that never was

- - - - - - -

But, I show no concern

The inhumanness of reality

“There’s no better place

Than Earth”, the light speaks

Then it fades away

In to oblivion, wailing

“All that is and

All that could have been!”
